• A New Home for Emmanuel Orthodox Church

  After more than a year of negotiations, legal work, and the painstaking process of piecing together more than two centuries of property deeds and transactions, we are grateful to announce that Emmanuel Orthodox Church is tentatively scheduled to close on the St. Mary’s Catholic Church property on September 10th. By God’s grace, this historic church will become the permanent home of Emmanuel Orthodox Church. Our desire is not simply to purchase a building, but to continue the Christian witness and ministry that has blessed this community for generations. We receive this opportunity with gratitude, humility, and a deep sense of responsibility. We give thanks to God for His mercy, faithfulness, and provision throughout this long journey, and we thank everyone who has prayed, worked, sacrificed, and supported our parish along the way. Glory to God for all things!

• Study Group Wednesday 6:00

  ### New Wednesday Bible Study: Exploring Orthodox Christianity Beginning this Wednesday at **6:00 p.m.**, we will start a brand-new Bible study exploring the faith, worship, and spiritual life of Orthodox Christianity. Whether you are new to Orthodoxy or have been Orthodox for many years, this study will be an opportunity to deepen our understanding of what the Church believes, why we believe it, and how we live it. Some of the topics we will explore include: * The Divine Liturgy and why we worship as we do * The Holy Mysteries (Sacraments) * Icons and the theology of sacred images * Theosis: becoming partakers of the divine nature * The Jesus Prayer and the Orthodox life of prayer * Fasting, asceticism, and spiritual discipline * The Eucharist and the Real Presence of Christ * The role of the Theotokos and the Saints * Holy Tradition and Sacred Scripture * Confession, repentance, and spiritual healing * The Church Fathers and their continuing importance * The Orthodox understanding of salvation * The Church calendar, feasts, and fasting seasons * Death, resurrection, and the life of the world to come * How to live an Orthodox Christian life in the modern world Bring your Bible—and bring your questions! This will be an open, practical, and engaging study of the ancient Christian faith and what it means for our lives today. **Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m.**

• Please Keep Jim Crevier in Your Prayers

  Please continue to keep **Jim Crevier, a former member of our parish,** in your prayers. Jim has been very ill and, thanks be to God, has finally returned home from the hospital. We are grateful for the progress he has made and ask everyone to continue praying for his strength, healing, and full recovery in the days ahead. **O Lord, visit and heal Your servant Jim, and grant him strength, comfort, and recovery.**

• September Midweek Feast Day Masses

  Please join us as we celebrate two important feasts of the Church this September: Tuesday, September 8 — 6:30 p.m. The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary We celebrate with joy the birth of the Most Holy Theotokos, through whom Christ our Savior entered the world. Monday, September 14 — 6:30 p.m. The Exaltation of the Holy Cross We gather to honor and venerate the precious and life-giving Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Please make every effort to join us as we celebrate these holy feasts together as a parish family.
